Meet Bastian
A Path of Direct Experience with the Powers of the Universe
Blessings, I’m Bas.
I’m in my fifth decade walking the trail in this world, and so far it’s been a grand, often nail-biting but also enchanting journey of discovery and empowerment.
We all know the feeling of being tossed about on the sea of life, bouncing between feeling lost and found, and the endless friction of contrasting forces. This internal friction has been my motivation for seeking spiritual guidance and my love of the natural world drew me to shamanism.
I live in Berry, Australia on Jerringa Country, a charming little coastal town on the south coast. I love the community here, the relaxed and warm vibe of nature lovers, and the surfing!
The path of shamanism has helped me know myself and answer many questions my curious mind has about life the universe and everything. Upon this path I have blossomed into a ceremonialist, a drum maker, a healer, and a teacher.
Shamanism offers a path of direct experiencing; there’s no ‘middleman’ or power outside of us. It is about guiding us to connect with the Universe through the natural world and be in union with the Master Teacher within our heart. What I admire about shamanic practices is the focus on results. Everything starts with aligning to an intention that promotes reciprocity, gratitude, and reverence. We work as technicians (magicians) to fine-tune our ceremonies, rituals, practices, and lifestyles so they provide alignment with correctness.
Helping people establish this inner relationship is my calling. Helping the Earth by returning to right relationship is my path of loving service.
Commitment to the ‘long walk’ of self-greatness, once in place, makes for an unforgettable fulfilling experience.
“I’ve never felt so seen and understood as during my session with Bas. She has a unique way of making sense out of things I could not.”
“Bastian is a beautiful being who brings such joy and lightness to the deep work of healing & awakening. I’m so grateful to have found her. ”
“I came to make a drum and left with new eyes to see the world through. I feel connected to my roots, my passion for my life has been re-energised.”
Acknowledging my Teachers
The Pachakuti Mesa Tradition
Cross-Cultural Shamanic Arts for Personal and Planetary Renewal
The Pachakuti Mesa Tradition of Cross-Cultural Shamanic Arts is a visionary portal into a 4000-5000 year old shamanic lineage of wisdom teachings and ceremonial mastery, founded by Peruvian Shamanic adept, don Oscar Miro-Quesada. A fusion of the central highland paqokuna and kamasqa curanderismo traditions of Peru, the Pachakuti Mesa Tradition blends the wisdom, shamanic healing arts and Earth-honoring ways of these lineages in a modern day context. Pachakuti means world reversal and refers to the time of transformation we are living now. This tradition, in all its richness, is an evolving practice of inner and outer activities that restore balance and harmony to our relationships with ‘All That Is’.
As a result of don Oscar’s apprenticeship in northern coastal huachuma curanderismo and initiation into the south-eastern Andean paqokuna shaman/priesthood, he was charged with bringing the traditions and practices of these earth-honoring ceremonies and healing rituals to the Western developed nations of the world. Thus with patience and dedication, don Oscar cultivated and nurtured the worldwide emergence of heartfelt sacred communities through his development of the Pachakuti Mesa Tradition.
Mateo Magee, founder of ‘Living The Ceremony’
Though he holds multiple university degrees, Mateo regards his true education as having come from decades of immersive living and apprenticeship with traditional Indigenous communities across North and South America. With 27 years of dedicated study in the Peruvian systems of curanderismo under the tutelage of don Oscar Miro-Quesada Solevo, the late don Victor Bravo and his son don Pedro, as well as don Augustine Machaca Apaza, his son Santos, don Jasón Blaesing and others.
His current work explores the power of receptivity in nature, stillness within movement, and the profound teachings found in silence and solitude. One of Mateo’s core gifts lies in his ability to be a student at all times. This mindset allows him to make complex and often elusive spiritual principles both accessible and deeply relatable to his students. His inclusive teaching style fosters a safe, expansive spaces where every soul can stretch out in, evolve, and ultimately find their way home.
